Koda

Meet Koda, a very smart, big, and athletic 2-year-old retriever mix who weighs 70lbs and has a ton of energy! He looks like a large, black golden retriever mix and also has strong guard-dog characteristics. Koda loves to play fetch and is not a herder or chaser. He doesn't seem interested in running off or chasing small critters, though cats might want to steer clear! While he's about 2 years old, he still shows some puppy behavior. He can be a bit reactive to people and dogs when on leash or walking by, but he knows many basic commands like sit, down, wait, stay, leave it, come, play, ball, and food. Koda learns new things incredibly fast and loves to play with other dogs, though his play style is quite physical rather than chasing.

Ideal Home

Koda is happiest when playing ball or when he's close to his special person. He is loving and affectionate with his person, but can find busy households with people coming and going to be challenging. He would do best with a single, experienced dog owner who has plenty of physical space, such as a yard or rural setting (rather than a city townhome). He needs an owner with the time, patience, and energy to work with him.

Koda is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped.

Training & Support

Koda will benefit from structure, stability, and exercise. He loves to play and learns very quickly.
