About Phyllis

Meet Miss Phyllis. A Southern Lady shepherd mix looking to live out her golden years with a special laid-back, loving human. She’s a sweetie. She bonds quickly with those who show her the love she has been missing most of her 8 years on earth. She is housebroken, kennel trained, great on a leash, and wants nothing more than to please her humans. She is a calm, mature companion who is very happy in a one-pet home with her foster mom. She loves greeting her foster mom when she returns home, appearing to dance and smile with joy at the reunion. She can sit beside you while you’re watching TV, reading a book, working, or just hanging out together. She doesn’t get in the way. Always happy to go with the flow. But she is also ready to go for walks, and she readily jumps into the car to go for new adventures.

Not great with cats, Phyllis prefers hanging with her humans. And like most gracefully maturing Southern Ladies, Phyllis does have a medical condition—but only one, and it is controlled by a daily med she laps up with her food.

Phyllis never had a chance at a stable home life. Her foster mom found her wandering the streets. She was microchipped, and there was hope for a time that she had merely gotten separated from a loving family. But it was not to be. The microchip was from Animal Control Services in San Antonio, and they said Phyllis had been passed around between multiple fosters for years but was never adopted. We don’t know how she ended up in Canyon Lake, when her last known address was in Castroville. Her foster mom has loved her and helped her the best she can, but, unfortunately, her foster mom is no longer able to take care of her. We are hoping Miss Phyllis can find her very own permanent home and loving human to give her the stability she wants, needs, and deserves. Can you be that person for Phyllis? Phyllis can be that loving companion for you. She is a healthy happy girl, and takes daily meds to control her epilepsy, w no issues , very simple
