Meet Rufus, a 2-year-old, 22-pound fluffy mix of Cockapoo and Shih Tzu! This smart, sweet, and charismatic boy is ready to steal your heart. Rufus was found as a stray, but even when he was a scruffy mess, his tail never stopped wagging. Now cleaned up and safe, he's revealed himself to be a joyful, clever, and affectionate companion who craves love. At a perfect "pick me up" size, Rufus absolutely adores belly rubs. He's a pro on the leash, knows "sit," and is incredibly eager to learn. He's also crate trained and house-trained when kept on a schedule. Rufus is a smart cookie who comes when called and is always trying to figure things out, motivated by a desire to be a good boy.
Ideal Home
Rufus adores other dogs and thrives with canine companions, but he would also be happy as an only dog with active humans. Due to his exuberant nature and desire to polish his manners, Rufus would do best in a home without children under the age of 10.
Ongoing Health
Rufus is fully vetted and ready for his forever home. He is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on all his vaccinations.
Training & Support
Rufus is still learning to refine his manners due to his enthusiasm for life. He is not naughty, just exuberant! He is house-trained and crate-trained when kept on a schedule and learns very quickly because he genuinely wants to please.
