Buddy is a 4-year-old Maltese/Shih Tzu mix looking for a forever home where he can thrive. He can be loving and playful on his own terms, but he is a work in progress and may snap at another dog when they pass by, when he is asleep, or when he has a toy. He may also guard his people and react when his foster mother leaves.

Ideal Home

Buddy needs an adult-only home with someone experienced in resource guarding. His adopter should be confident, able to set clear boundaries, and committed to helping him live harmoniously. Buddy should be kept off furniture such as sofas and beds.

Training & Support

Buddy’s adopter should be open to working with a trainer and behaviorist so his behavior can be better understood and managed.
