Jake

Jake is a 3-year-old, 77-pound sweetheart with a big smile and a cute white patch on his chest! He retired from racing in July, where his UK racing name was Distant Jake. Jake can be a bit timid when he first meets new people, but once he settles in, he's the sweetest, most loving lad who enjoys giving and receiving affection. He also loves playing with toys and going for walks, so he'd thrive with an adopter who loves to spend time with him!

Ideal Home

Jake has been around small children, but they do make him a bit nervous. Kennel staff in the UK believe he would get along with both cats and small dogs, but he has never been tested, so that may change once he can meet them.

Ongoing Health

Jake has Symmetrical Lupoid Onychodystrophy (SLO), a condition that causes dogs to shed their nails. This is easily managed with supplements. At his last vet check-up, his condition was well-managed, and no new issues were found. His vet notes from the UK can be shared with his adopter.

Training & Support
