CHARLIE

Charlie is a handsome 2-year-old German Shepherd who arrived at Animal Control as a stray. He was found to be quite thin and struggling with kennel life, but sadly, his previous owner did not reclaim him. Since being rescued, Charlie has settled in wonderfully and is adored by his foster family. He’s a medium-energy dog who enjoys a good game of fetch and tag, but is also happy to lay quietly inside, or rest his head on your lap for some petting. Charlie is very good in the house, house-trained, and crate-trained. He knows basic commands and, with a bit of a refresher and a strong hand, can be a great leash walker again. He needs to build trust with his people, as he can be shy if yelled at, but once he bonds with you, he becomes very attached. Charlie generally likes other dogs and has been friendly with many people, though he can be discerning. He is looking for his person or people to connect with and share his life with.

Ideal Home

Charlie would do best in a home where he can build a strong connection with his people. He needs patience and understanding as he learns to trust.

Ongoing Health

Charlie had ear infections that have been treated. He is currently on Blue Buffalo Salmon sensitive skin food, and appears to have no further health issues.

Training & Support

Charlie needs a refresher on leash walking with a strong and consistent handler. He is shy if yelled at, so positive reinforcement and building trust are key to his training success.
