Maple

Meet Maple! This sweet and gentle German Shepherd is about 4.5 years old and weighs 83lbs. Maple is an independent girl who enjoys relaxing in her bed but also loves to follow her humans around the house. She thrives on attention and belly rubs, and is incredibly smart, quickly learning commands like "sit," "stay," "down," and "come." She's eager to connect with her people and would love to continue learning. Maple is a dream on leash – she doesn't pull and is easily redirected, always staying close to her favorite person. She loves water and would make a fantastic adventure buddy! She also rides well in the car and settles in quickly. While she enjoys bursts of energy playing with toys or at the dog park, she's otherwise a laid-back companion who is a sucker for a good walk. Maple is polite around food, sitting patiently for her meals, and she's already house-trained.

Ideal Home

Maple would do best in a home without other dogs or cats. She also needs children over the age of 10, as she has a tendency to herd younger ones.

Ongoing Health

Maple is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed, heartworm negative, and on monthly preventatives. She has been vet-checked and did great, tolerating handling of her paws and teeth.

Training & Support

Maple is crate-trained, though she likely doesn't need it as she's not destructive and doesn't jump on furniture. She's easy-going, easy to train, and low energy. She can be reactive on leash but takes corrections well. We require that all adopters are committed to ongoing training and socialization as part of responsible ownership.
