Meet the breeder
Meet Dr. B. Burkett. My life as a veterinarian means I spent years studying animal health and genetic integrity, but my life as a Labrador Retriever owner is driven purely by love for the breed's unmatched versatility and loyal spirit. Raising this single, exceptional litter wasn't just a project for me- it was a deeply personal mission to produce the kind of Labrador I've always dreamed of owning: one where outstanding temperament, proven field ability, and correct conformation all come together in one incredible dog. To give these puppies the ultimate head start in life, they are being raised using a combination of development and assessment programs: - Early Bird Introduction: Introduced to quail wings and ducks to stimulate and assess their natural hunting and retrieving drive. - The Rule of 7 Socialization: Formally introduced to diverse surfaces, sounds, objects, people and environments, and food sources to build confidence. - Crate Confidence: Immersed in Susan Garrett's Crate Games program to build focus, value for the crate and a positive foundation for impulse control. - Early Household Manners: Foundation indoor potty training has already begun to set them up for a seamless transition to your home. - Formal Training Kickstart: At 7 weeks old, puppies will begin foundational work utilizing the "Retriever from the Pup Up" training program. - Comprehensive Aptitude Appraisals: To facilitate the absolute best fit for each family, every puppy will undergo a combination of the Avidog and Volhard Temperament Assessments in an attempt to match their unique traits to your lifestyle and working goals. These puppies aren't just raised; they are structurally built to work, genetically primed to excel, and carefully nurtured to be the ultimate companions. When you welcome one of our puppies into your home, you are not just getting a pet- you are inheriting a legacy of health, drive and devotion, backed by professional veterinary oversight from day one. AKC proudly supports dedicated and responsible breeders. We encourage all prospective puppy owners to do their research and be prepared with questions to ask the breeder. Make sure you are not only choosing the right breed for you, but also that you’re getting it from the right individual.
