Supreme is a gorgeous grey and white Pit mix who was unfortunately dumped at the NYCACC, the city kill shelter, in November 2021 for not being housebroken. It's hardly his fault if his owners never took the time to teach him! Due to the stressful shelter environment, Supreme was placed on the euthanasia list and almost didn't make it. Thankfully, a wonderful person stepped in and spared his life. During his time in foster care, we've invested in private training for him to provide the guidance his previous owners did not. Supreme is an active young dog who needs an equally active person or family to truly thrive. He adores running in the backyard and is easily entertained, so a yard is a must! He also needs a confident, assertive leader to guide him – not aggressively, but with a firm, loving hand, as he is a strong-willed boy. Supreme is a toy enthusiast and plays with them constantly. He is approximately 5 years old and weighs about 60lbs. He is already neutered.
Ideal Home
Supreme would do best in a home where he can be the center of attention. He's looking for an active person or family who will include him in their adventures, whether it's hiking or running. A backyard is essential for him to play and explore. He loves other dogs, so another canine companion would be a definite plus, though not required. He is good with older children and is generally apprehensive with strangers until he has a chance to warm up to them. He is not a good fit for a home with cats.
Ongoing Health
Supreme is neutered. No other health concerns were mentioned in the listing.
Training & Support
Supreme has received private training and is reported to be obedient and eager to please. He does pull on leash, so continued leash training would be beneficial. He is housetrained and crate-trained.
