LYLA LIU

Lyla is a very happy girl who occasionally jumps on people, especially when she first sees them after a while. She's a quick learner and sits fabulously, but still needs a reward for "down" to get her to do it consistently. She might do it, go halfway down and wiggle, or give a playful bow. Her preferred "stay" is "stay right next to you," and she would make a great emotional support animal. With specialized training, she could even learn some service dog skills.

Lyla’s leash skills are pretty good. Fetch is a work in progress; she sometimes runs for the ball but then joyfully returns for affection. While she'd love to learn to play more, her biggest joys are receiving love from people and flirting with other dogs.

When Lyla was rescued, she had three puppies. Thanks to the help of the "village," she was saved, spayed, and vaccinated. She is now ready for her furever home with someone who can match her generous capacity for love. She is crate-trained but loves sleeping on beds, often under the covers. She generally does well when loose in the house, but may chew on certain pillows if bored and unsupervised for too long. Lyla is not a backyard dog; she wants to be part of the action.

Ideal Home

Lyla thrives when she's part of the action and with her people. She's not suited for a backyard-only life.

Lyla has been spayed and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Lyla needs a gentle reminder when she jumps and some reinforcement for consistently following the "down" command. She also needs reminders to not chew on pillows when bored and unsupervised.
