RIGO

Rigo is a truly special puppy under a year old who is navigating the world with both deafness and blindness. Despite his sensory impairments, Rigo is a happy-go-lucky pup who greets each day and every new friend with excitement and joy! He had a wonderful experience in a short-term foster placement where he charmed his foster parent with his sweetness, silliness, and eagerness to learn. Rigo is incredibly smart, quickly learning to use his leash to reorient himself and walking politely on a leash without pulling. He's already picking up on "sit" and can self-soothe when he has excess energy. He loves people, is a big cuddler, and enjoys being held while he naps. Rigo shows remarkable trust and a desire to be around people, readily responding to encouragement. He did well with another large, patient dog and is making good progress with house training. His foster parent believes he will bring immense joy and be an amazing companion to his future family.

Training & Support

Rigo will require specialized training using touch cues rather than visual or verbal commands, but he is exceptionally smart and already making progress with a volunteer dog trainer. Fortunately, this volunteer will provide continued FREE training for Rigo once adopted!
