Meet Alaska! This gorgeous boy is approximately 4 years old and weighs about 45 pounds. He found himself in quite the predicament when he was taken to a high-kill shelter in Houston, Texas. Thankfully, he is heartworm negative and is learning what love and life are all about. Alaska's foster family has taught him the basics—he's potty trained, knows a few basic commands, and is learning not to growl at his canine siblings. Alaska is getting used to being around other dogs, but slow introductions are a must.
