Meet Benson!
Benson is a gentle, five-year-old mixed breed with a heart full of loyalty and a desire for quiet devotion. He's a large boy, weighing around 75 pounds, and carries himself with a thoughtful charm. Benson loves being by his people's side, whether it's going for a car ride, watching the world go by from the window, or snuggling up during quiet evenings. He's a smart cookie, knowing commands like sit, stay, come, and even sweet gestures like kisses and snuggles. When he's not showering you with affection, he enjoys chasing balls, playing enrichment games, swimming, and enjoying a good chew. Benson can be a little sensitive to sudden noises or movements and might need a moment to warm up to new people, but once he trusts you, he's incredibly devoted, loving, and attentive with impeccable house manners. He's a wonderfully intuitive boy who is deeply in tune with emotions and forms strong bonds, offering comfort by leaning in or curling up beside you when you need it most.
Ideal Home
Benson would thrive in a calm, structured environment with a securely fenced yard that is at least six feet tall, as he has been known to jump fences. He needs a home where he can feel safe, supported, and understood. Benson is not compatible with cats and needs an adult-only home.

Benson requires daily medication to manage allergies and support his emotional balance.
Training & Support
Benson walks well on leash but can pull, so continued guidance and positive reinforcement training will help him stay focused. He is selective with other dogs and can be reactive with unfamiliar ones. While he has experience living with multiple dogs, there has been increasing tension with one particular dog in the home that led to a physical altercation. Because of this, Benson would thrive as the only dog in a home or with a caregiver who can provide very structured, gradual introductions supported by positive reinforcement training.
