Merle is deaf and mildly visually impaired, but he adapts beautifully to life with remarkable trust and resilience. While he may occasionally bump into things, he navigates his learned spaces confidently. He's a loving, lower-energy dog who thrives with calm companionship and would be happy as a single dog or with calmer dogs after slow introductions. Merle has a goofy streak, enjoying mud baths followed by baths, and loves car rides, walks, naps, being pet, and being near his people. He is smart, enjoys training with treats, and is eager to learn and form strong bonds. Merle is looking for a compassionate person to be his guide, safety net, and biggest cheerleader, promising unwavering trust, deep loyalty, and lots of love in return.
Ideal Home
Merle thrives with calm companionship. He does well with calmer dogs given slow introductions, but he would also be perfectly happy as a single dog soaking up all the love and attention for himself.
Ongoing Health
Merle is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. He has been treated for heartworms and is expected to test negative at his next recheck.
Training & Support
Merle is a smart boy who genuinely enjoys training, especially when treats are involved. He is eager to learn and forms strong bonds with people who understand and respect his unique way of experiencing the world. He is working hard in his foster home to polish his manners and continue building confidence.

- After your phone screening, we can schedule a meet and greet/the start of your foster-to-adopt trial.
- All adoptions have a 2-week minimum foster-to-adopt trial to make sure that the pet is the right fit for your home, and vice versa.
- Merle's adoption fee is $250, which would be due after the foster-to-adopt period.
