Jack is a handsome, tall boy who came to us from Chicago Animal Control after being surrendered by his family. He was quite underweight and suffering from vomiting and diarrhea, which unfortunately, our veterinarians were unable to diagnose or treat at animal control. Upon arrival, our vet suspected Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI), a condition where the pancreas doesn't produce enough digestive enzymes. The good news is that Jack is now on a simple, inexpensive daily powder that supplements his food with the enzymes he needs. This treatment will likely be lifelong, but it's effective and only costs about $20 a month. Thanks to this treatment, Jack has gained most of the weight he needs and is now fully vetted, including being neutered! He should weigh around 65lbs once he reaches a healthy weight. Jack is a friendly and social fellow who adores pets and hugs. He gets along well with other dogs and has not been tested with cats or small dogs. He would also be happy as an only dog. Jack walks nicely on a leash and is not a strong puller. Now that he's healthy and happy, he's ready to find his forever family!
