Charlie (PKA Silk)

Charlie (PKA Silk) is a beautiful Yellow Lab with a heart of gold. He's a loving and gentle older soul who weighs about 55-60 lbs and has become the perfect couch potato, always wanting to be near his foster family. He's a devoted shadow, staying close to his foster mom and patiently waiting for her return when she's at work. Charlie has a unique charm, with a tail nub that wags with joy and a cute, pigeon-toed gait. He's learned to enjoy his lovies and chewies, selecting his favorites from the toy box each day.

Ideal Home

Charlie would thrive in a home with someone who enjoys relaxing and cuddling. He doesn't require a lot of activity and would be a wonderful companion for an older couple or as an only pup. He's good with his foster siblings but may take time to warm up to new ones. Patience is key, as he can take a bit to adjust to new people and other critters.

Ongoing Health

Charlie is a heartworm survivor and has fully recovered. He recently had his teeth cleaned, during which a couple of teeth were removed. He has adapted well to this and enjoys his chew toys.

Training & Support

Charlie knows several commands, including wait, outside, potty, "cookie," "time to eat," "time for bed," and "come." He is learning to be gentle when greeting other dogs on walks. His foster family avoids using the word "no" as it can scare him. He uses a doggy door and can hold his bladder for up to 6 hours. He loves his nightly massages to help him relax before bed.
