Buddy Edward is a middle-aged gentleman with a bit of a tummy, but we're working on that! He's the happiest, roly-poly Shih Tzu around, complete with adorable snorts and a charming waddle. He came to us at 18 lbs, and while his vet says his bloodwork looks great, his weight is a concern and can lead to health issues down the line. His foster parent is diligently managing his diet with special kibble, feeding him just one meal a day.
Buddy has soft, curly white and tan fur. He had some bald spots due to skin infections, but they've since grown back beautifully. As is common with his breed, Buddy will require regular and extensive grooming, so frequent trips to the salon are a must! Please note that rescue does not complete DNA testing; his breed is based on documentation provided by his original owner and the veterinary clinic he saw prior to rescue.
Ideal Home
Buddy enjoys the company of cats, small dogs, and big dogs. He absolutely loves attention and is a champion lap-sitter. He's already leash-trained and potty-trained, and he’s a big fan of car rides and adventure!
Ongoing Health
Buddy is up-to-date on all his vaccines, has been dewormed for gut health, is microchipped, and neutered. He tested negative for heartworms and is on prevention.
Training & Support
Buddy is already leash-trained and potty-trained, which is a great head start! He thrives on attention and clearly loves his foster mom's lap.
