Gunner is a handsome 3-year-old, 50-pound black and tan hound mix with a heart full of love and a nose for adventure! He was rescued from a small-town dog pound and is now ready to find his forever home. Gunner is a well-behaved boy who enjoys his crate, comes when called, and is a champ in the car. He's also a fan of baths and loves to play with toys and other dogs. Given the Texas heat, Gunner is a true connoisseur of indoor comforts, preferring to snooze on the couch with the AC on. He'll venture out for potty breaks and playtime, but quickly seeks the cool indoors. As a hound, Gunner has some signature traits: he's enthusiastic about squirrels, will bark at passersby, and isn't above a little counter-surfing or garbage exploration with his pals if given the chance. He's a goofy, happy hound through and through!
Ideal Home
Gunner thrives in a home where he can enjoy indoor comforts and has opportunities for play. He's not a fan of the heat and prefers to be inside during the hottest parts of the day.
Ongoing Health
Gunner is neutered, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. He has been treated for heartworms and is now heartworm-negative. He receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention.
Training & Support
Gunner is crate-trained and obeys commands. He may bark at people and other animals outside, and has been known to counter-surf and raid the garbage if cabinets aren't secured.
