Meet Orville! This 9-month-old, 35-pound bundle of puppy joy is ready to find his forever family. Orville is a delightful mix, with a Beagle/Cavalier father and a Basset Hound/Blue Heeler mother. While we can't predict his exact adult weight, he's expected to stay under 55 pounds. He's been lovingly raised in a foster home and is thriving. Orville is a sweet, goofy, and playful boy who often shows off his dominant Basset Hound personality. He's good-natured and affectionate, but also has a stubborn and independent streak, which can make training a fun challenge!
Ideal Home
Orville would do well with dog-savvy children, but his tendency to jump on people for attention means he's not suited for very young children or frail adults. He also gets along with other dogs and cats. Due to his vocal nature and tendency to bark at new sights and sounds, he would do best in a home without shared walls. A fenced yard is a must for Orville, as his leash and house training are still in progress. He's not a high-energy pup and enjoys lounging around both inside and out.
Ongoing Health
Orville is neutered, up to date on vaccines, on flea and heartworm prevention, and microchipped.
Training & Support
Orville's forever family will need to be ready for all things puppy, including house training (which is his biggest hurdle!), leash training (he's working on it!), and learning what's okay to chew. He can be a bit mouthy and loves to tear things up, so providing him with appropriate chew toys is important. Consistency, love, and patience will help him blossom into a devoted companion.
