Kenai

Meet Kenai! This sweet, approximately 2-4 year old mixed breed girl has a truly inspiring story. Kenai was found as a stray, bravely dragging a chain and trap behind her. After a humane trap was set, she was safely captured, and it was discovered she had a foothold trap clamped around her front foot. She was rushed to a veterinarian, where it was determined that due to extensive injuries, her leg had to be amputated. Now, Kenai is safe with us and on her journey to recovery, learning to navigate the world as a tripod and taking it all in stride! Despite her incredibly difficult past, she remains a gentle and loving soul. She is friendly, smart, and enjoys the company of other dogs.

Ideal Home

Kenai would thrive in a home that can provide her with love and patience as she continues to adjust.

Ongoing Health

Kenai has had an amputation due to injuries sustained from a trap. She is recovering well and adapting to life as a tripod.

Training & Support

Like all rescue dogs, Kenai will benefit from continued training and socialization to help her flourish in her new home.

Transporation

Kenai is currently located in South Carolina. We transport to the Northeast weekly. Applicants not located along the East Coast should be willing to travel to pick up their pet. We offer local or virtual meet-and-greets with an application on file.
