Dory is a 3-year-old, 52-pound fawn Pit Bull mix who is pure love wrapped in fur. She arrived at the shelter pregnant, gave birth to two adorable pups, raised them in quarantine, and then battled kennel cough. Through it all, she’s remained gentle, patient, and endlessly affectionate. Dory is incredibly people-social — she’ll happily army crawl into your lap for cuddles and melt your heart with her goofy, loving personality. She’s affectionate without being demanding and loves leaning in for pets or flopping over for belly rubs. In playgroups, she quickly became a “helper dog” thanks to her calm, friendly energy and ability to get along with everyone. She’s a submissive sweetheart who truly just wants to love and be loved. Dory isn't overly driven by treats or fetch, but hand her a squeaky toy and she's in heaven! She’ll curl up beside you, chewing contentedly, or trot off to enjoy it on her own. After everything she’s overcome, this resilient girl deserves a cozy home, a soft bed, and a family to call her own. She may even be cat-workable with dog-savvy kitties. Dory is waiting with a heart of pure gold, ready to bring endless love into your life!

Ideal Home

Dory would do well in a home with another gentle, easy-going dog. She may be okay with dog-savvy cats with proper introduction. Shelter staff believe she would be fine with respectful, mannerly kids.

Ongoing Health

All rescue dogs are vaccinated, altered, and micro-chipped.

Training & Support

Dory knows basic commands and is leash trained. She is an easy-going, gentle dog.
