Harley Quinn is a 3-4 year old female who found herself pregnant and in a high-kill shelter. She delivered six beautiful, healthy puppies while she was there and was thankfully brought into foster care within 48 hours of their birth. She was a wonderful mom and allowed her foster parents to handle her puppies without any issues, seeming to appreciate their efforts to keep them safe. Her puppies have all found their forever homes, and now it's her turn! We think she is a Lab/Pit mix. Harley is a very sweet and affectionate girl who is high-energy and needs plenty of exercise and activity to help her be the focused, good girl she wants to be. She does need a loving but firm pet parent. With some training and good one-on-one time, she has the potential to be a great companion for an active family.
Ideal Home
Harley would love a home where she can run, hike, and be active. Due to her active prey drive, we do not recommend cats, fowl, or other small animals in the home.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned.
Training & Support
Harley tends to jump on people, and this is being addressed. She plays a little rough and has an active prey drive, so her foster parents are cautious with their cats and chickens. She roams close to her foster parents when outside. She has done fairly with the other dogs in her foster home, with slow introductions and limiting her interaction to calmer dogs. We recommend cautious introductions to other animals.
