About Groundhog the Boy with a Happy Tongue
Groundhog is the epitome of a sweet soul and a full-time lover! He's a social butterfly who thinks every human he meets is a best friend he hasn't danced for yet. He's the ultimate velcro companion who lives for connection, and his favorite thing is to lean his whole weight into you, burying his head in your lap to show you he's right there by your side. Watch his video to see his signature Booty Boogie dance in action! We think this handsome, unique-coated fella is a Pitbull mix, weighing in at a sturdy 47 lbs. He's a big dog with an even bigger heart, small enough to believe he's a lap dog, and we're not about to tell him otherwise. His most prominent feature is his massive, happy pink tongue that's constantly unfurled, showcasing his pure joy. Groundhog is always happy, and the forecast is always "Tongues out!"
He's currently thriving in a loving foster home where he's become the Master of the House! He's getting great social practice, being fostered with an older dog, a small dog, and even a cat. His foster family raves about his goofiness and his ability to keep everyone laughing. He's affectionate, loves hanging out, and soaks up every head rub he can get. He's a sensitive, sweet gentleman who tackles every day with a wagging tail and a heart full of joy! Groundhog is a true friend to all dogs, regardless of their size, and he approaches new friends with a thoughtful pause, as if to say, "Wait, have we met? Are we best friends yet?" He's more of a chill vibes guy than a high-octane wrestler, and would do best with a low to medium energy dog, though he's also perfectly happy to be your one and only. When it comes to cats, Groundhog can be a bit shy. We can arrange a "kitty slumber party" (an overnight with a cat) to see if he'd be willing to share the couch.
Ideal Home
His dream home includes a fenced-in yard where he can zoom, "boogie," and sunbathe while building his confidence on the leash. He's looking for a family that understands that the best things in life are worth a little extra love and patience.
