Meet Yeager! He's a tall, athletic, and incredibly handsome Doberman with seemingly unlimited energy. Yeager is a complex guy, but also obliviously happy. He's definitely "a lot" and not just a dog who needs a little training or has puppy energy. We're talking about a full-time project dog!
Yeager is dog-social selectively and has done well with female dogs and smaller to medium-sized male dogs. He has also done well with cats and older kids. He is extremely happy, confident, and always ready to go!
Ideal Home
Yeager needs an experienced, active, and consistent human (or humans) who will not give up when he inevitably tests every boundary. Doberman or working-breed experience is strongly preferred. If you want a chill, easy dog, Yeager is not the one. If you want a high-drive, chaotic, hilarious, frustrating, and incredibly rewarding project, Yeager is your guy!
Ongoing Health
Yeager is deep-chested, so awareness of this breed trait is required.
Training & Support
Yeager is potty trained but won't tell you when he needs to go and will have accidents. He will also mark indoors. He does not understand or respect human correction. He learns patterns quickly and uses that knowledge against you, especially when food is involved. He rarely settles, especially around other animals, as play is his full-time job. He takes correction from other dogs but forgets it happened minutes later. He destroys beds, feeders, and anything not built for chaos. He eats fast and immediately wants to sprint and jump. Yeager is not untrainable, but he is not intuitive. He will require someone experienced, structured, and committed to ongoing training. This is not a "figure it out as you go" dog.
