Meet Stella, a beautiful and resilient 2-year-old girl with a heart full of love and an incredible story of survival. Despite her past, Stella is gentle, affectionate, and eager to find a family who will cherish her for the special soul she is.
Stella was rescued from an abandoned home where she was sadly left behind. She was found to be extremely thin, having resorted to eating whatever she could find to survive. Due to this past trauma, Stella can be food-reactive with other dogs. To ensure her comfort and safety, it's best for her to eat in her kennel where she feels secure and doesn't feel the need to guard her food. However, she's perfectly happy to enjoy treats around other dogs.
This sweet girl even had a trial adoption recently, but was returned because the adopter felt she was "broken." Stella isn't broken; she's a survivor who has overcome so much and deserves a loving home.
About Stella:
- Approximately 2 years old
- Deaf (or partially deaf) but responds beautifully to hand signals.
- Has a unique left eye that didn’t fully develop, and her vision in that eye is uncertain.
- Wonderful with children and dogs of all ages and sizes.
- Potty trained and kennel trained.
- Knows "sit" with a hand signal.
- Spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.
She will come with her kennel, toys, leash, and collar.
Cats can be a bit tricky, as Stella doesn't quite understand them, and they sometimes react to her presence.
Ideal Home
Stella thrives in a loving and patient environment. She needs a home where she can decompress and become a cherished member of the family.
Ongoing Health
Stella's vision in her left eye is uncertain due to its incomplete development.
Training & Support
Stella is potty trained and kennel trained. She knows "sit" with a hand signal. While she's a quick learner, it's important to continue reinforcing her training in a stable home environment. Due to her past, it's recommended she eats separately from other dogs to prevent food reactivity.
