About Waldo

Meet Waldo, who also goes by Pikachu! This lively 16-month-old terrier mix, weighing in at around 26 pounds, is ready to embrace a bright future! Waldo's journey hasn't been easy; he spent his early days living outdoors with little positive human interaction. We rescued him in December 2024, and after nearly three months of dedicated care, he's shown us just how amazing he can be. He's incredibly smart, picking up on things quickly, and is motivated by food, play, and praise, making training a breeze. Waldo is excellent with every dog he meets and loves to play. He's also good with cats, respecting their space. He enjoys being part of the pack, is outgoing and active, and has a clever, bullheaded streak! Waldo is full of energy and truly happy when he has someone by his side. He's fully house and crate-trained, mastering these skills on his own within days of his rescue. His confidence shines through as he's incredibly self-motivated. Waldo's adventure is just beginning, and he's ready to explore, learn, and play. Trails and hikes are his favorites, but he's just as content at home surrounded by his favorite people and furry friends.

Ideal Home

Waldo needs an active home with someone who loves the outdoors and is home most of the time. He enjoys car rides and thrives with new experiences.

Ongoing Health

Waldo has been heartworm tested negative and Lyme disease tested negative. He receives monthly heartworm, flea, and tick prevention. All age-appropriate vaccinations and testing have been completed within the last 6-12 months, including rabies, core vaccinations (Lepto & Corona), deworming, and fecal testing.

Training & Support

Waldo is house and crate-trained and walks well on a leash. We are actively working on basic obedience training and off-leash recall. Continued training is essential for his ongoing success.

Adoption application review can take up to 3 weeks.
A minimum of 2 Meet & Greets are required before adopting.
A home check needs to take place.
Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense.
No exchange or request for money is required before adoption.
No payment plans.
A minimum tax-deductible suggested adoption fee donation of $550 is required.

Waldo is currently fostered north of Indianapolis. We do not ship any of our adoptable pets.
