Riggs

Riggs is a sweet, gentle, and shy nine-month-old Anatolian Shepherd. He came to us from a hoarding case with over 40 dogs. While the dogs were fed and kept reasonably clean, Riggs didn't have the opportunity for much socialization. He's a natural introvert who prefers a calm approach and needs a little time to feel comfortable in new situations. He does well with other dogs and cats and would benefit greatly from a confident canine companion in his new home to show him the ropes. Riggs also needs a fenced yard for his safety and because loud noises and sudden commotion can startle him. He would do best in a home with children over the age of 10, as he prefers a calm environment and is not fond of grabby, noisy youngsters.

Ideal Home

Riggs would thrive in a relaxed home with a resident dog buddy and a fenced yard. He prefers a consistently comfortable indoor temperature and would prefer to avoid loud holiday celebrations. He needs people who understand that shy dogs flourish with structure, kindness, and patience.

Riggs is still learning the basics of everyday life. He would benefit from a patient owner who can provide him with structure, kindness, and time to build his confidence.
