Gemma

Meet Gemma, a truly resilient girl who is ready for her forever home. Gemma was found in La Cruz with a severe TVT tumor, but she fought hard, healed completely, and is now cancer-free, with only a small scar to show for her brave journey. She's a moderately active dog who enjoys strolls and sunbathing. Gemma gets along well with most dogs, often taking on a confident role in her canine friendships, and she currently lives peacefully with both male and female dogs. She's a sweet, steady companion with a quiet affection to share.

Ongoing Health

Gemma is cancer-free. As a precaution for TVT, she will need a simple cytology swab every 6 months for 2 years. TVT rarely returns, and many survivors live long, happy lives.

Training & Support

Gemma is a sweet and steady girl. Continued positive reinforcement will help her settle into her new home.

Transportation

Gemma is located near Bucerias, Mexico. Approved adopters will be matched with flight companions traveling from Puerto Vallarta. You will meet your new companion at the airport. During the summer months, it can be challenging to secure Canadian flight companions. In these cases, dogs may fly into the US and can be picked up at Peace Arch Park at the border. We have successfully arranged border pick-ups with volunteer assistance during the summer to keep adoptions moving forward.
