Ernie

Meet Ernie! Ernie is a wonderfully chill, goofy, and loving 8-year-old Pittie/Cattle Dog mix who weighs about 63lbs. He was found running down a busy street and, despite being microchipped, his previous owner didn't want him back. He was clearly loved before and is eager to find his forever family again. Ernie is a true gem who gets along with everyone he meets and just wants to be part of the pack.

Ideal Home

Ernie would love a home where he can be included in all activities. He is a gentle soul and has done well with other dogs, even letting a smaller dog boss him around. He shows interest in cats but not aggressively, so he might do well in a home with feline friends who are accepting. While he hasn't been around children, his foster believes he'd enjoy a home with them, provided they understand he's a larger dog.

Ongoing Health

Ernie is up-to-date on his vaccinations and is heartworm negative.

Training & Support

Ernie is house-trained and walks well on a leash. He is not a fan of crates and will try to escape, though he is not destructive when left unsupervised. If crated while you're home, he may whine or howl for a short period, but can be calmed with treats or verbal reassurance.
