Rye is a two-year-old, 56-pound bundle of sunshine and happiness, ready to chase away any bad day with his goofy antics and loving snuggles. He's the color of a perfectly cooked corndog and greets everyone like a long-lost best friend. Rye is affectionate, people-oriented, and happiest when he's close to his favorite humans, whether he's lounging at your feet or leaning in for a kiss. He can be a little jumpy when excited, but he's a quick learner and a little polishing will have his manners sparkling.

Ideal Home

Rye would thrive with an adopter who enjoys playtime, walks, and some structure. He could do well in an apartment with plenty of exercise and enrichment, but a house with a yard would be a dream come true.

Ongoing Health

Rye is up to date on all vetting, including DAPP with booster, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines. He has received multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, flea prevention, and a 12-month injectable heartworm preventative. He has also been tested for heartworms and received treatment if needed.

Training & Support

Rye can be a bit all over the place when walking on leash, but he listens well to corrections and loves treats, making training a fun and rewarding experience. He has learned quickly that sitting gets more praise than jumping, so his excitement-induced jumping is likely a remnant of his puppy days. With a little work, he'll be a show-off in the manners department!

Rye is located in Texas and can be transported nationwide via the rescue's USDA-certified transport system. Drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (pick-up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
