Meet Rocco, a laid-back, lovable senior guy who is looking for a home/comfy place to land. At around 7 years old, Rocco has truly mastered the art of enjoying the simple things in life: easy walks, car rides, cozy naps, and spending time with his people. Rocco is the definition of easygoing. He walks beautifully on leash, eagerly hops right into the car for rides, and has a calm, well-mannered personality that makes him an enjoyable companion to have around. He is affectionate without being demanding and has a gentle, relaxed presence that fits naturally into a home. One of the best things about Rocco is his size. He may be around 58 lbs, but he is low to the ground and compact, making him feel more like a "fun-sized" pitty. Pictures truly do not do him justice. He has the build of a sturdy little teddy bear and an easygoing personality to match. Rocco also still has a playful side and enjoys attention, exploring, and spending time with people, but he is not a high-energy dog. He would be a wonderful match for someone looking for a mature companion who enjoys outings and companionship without the nonstop chaos of a younger dog.
Ideal Home
Rocco would love a comfy couch, relaxing rides around town, and a person to spend his days with. He is past the puppy chaos and ready for a slower, happier chapter with someone who appreciates a calm, loyal companion.
Ongoing Health
When Rocco first arrived, he was dealing with some skin issues and missing fur, but he has been improving with care and medication and continues to look and feel better as time goes on.
Training & Support
Rocco should not be left with soft toys unsupervised. He enjoys shredding toys and may attempt to eat pieces. Rocco has participated in playgroups at the shelter and has also met the dogs in his foster home, where he has done well. If you already have a dog(s) in the home, a meet and greet at the shelter is still required to help ensure a good fit for everyone.
