Smokey

Meet Smokey! He's a 2-year-old, 60-pound Cane Corso / Weimaraner mix who arrived at our shelter as a stray. Fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered, Smokey is all set to find his forever family! He's a smart and kind-hearted boy who loves to cuddle and is eager to please. Smokey is a total couch potato who's more than happy to hang out and relax with you all day! He's a loyal, sweet companion who just wants to be part of a family.

Ideal Home

Smokey would thrive in a home with a yard where he can play and relax. He would prefer a home without cats. Due to his shyness with new people, he would do best in a low-traffic home. He would also do well in a home with another dog as he loves playing with his canine companions. Smokey would love a home with someone who works from home or is only away from the home for a few hours a day, as he can experience some separation anxiety.

Ongoing Health

Smokey is up to date on all vaccinations, is microchipped, and has been neutered.

Training & Support

Smokey is fully potty trained. He walks well on a leash, though he may pull slightly when initially excited by strangers or other dogs. He's easily redirected and settles into a calm walk. While he's not a fan of being crated, he will use it for resting. He does get a bit nervous around strangers and may bark out of excitement initially, but this is easily managed.

Transportation

Smokey is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX. He is eligible for transport to an adopter as soon as one is lined up.
