Dex is a 1.5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix who is smart, loyal, and affectionate. He bonds deeply with his people, is playful, intuitive, and happiest when included and secure. Dex loves to play, especially tug of war and catch, and he gets along well with dogs of all sizes, reading their social cues and backing off if they aren't interested in playing. He's patient, respectful, and thoughtful in his interactions. Dex is excellent on leash, walking calmly without pulling and showing no reactivity to other dogs. He's intelligent, eager to learn, and responds well to training, enjoying structure and having a job to do. Dex is fully house-trained and crate-trained, sleeping quietly through the night in his crate and behaving well when left out in the house if his energy needs are met.
Ideal Home
Dex has a strong prey drive and is not suitable for a home with cats or small animals. He has been around children but takes time to warm up and may growl when unsure, so he would do best in an adult-only home or with dog-savvy teens who understand boundaries. He would thrive in a home with adult adopters who enjoy walks, outdoor time, and continuing his training.
