Tanuki

Tanuki is a handsome gentleman of approximately 12-14 years, weighing in at a solid 69 lbs. He was initially surrendered because he "won't walk or move anywhere," but it was discovered he was suffering from lumbar spondylosis, arthritis, and heartworm disease. Thankfully, he was brought into rescue, his heartworms were treated, and he began pain management. Tanuki has blossomed into a happy, comfortable dog living life to the fullest. He showers his humans with love and is wonderfully polite with other dogs. We suspect he'd be a gentle companion to cats as well. Tanuki truly shines when he's enjoying a pool soak or playing fetch!

Ideal Home

Tanuki is good with kids and dogs. We suspect he'd be just as easygoing with cats.

Ongoing Health

Tanuki was treated for heartworm disease and is on pain management for lumbar spondylosis and arthritis.

Training & Support

Tanuki is house-trained. He loves to play fetch and soak in the pool!

Tanuki is currently fostered in Brooklyn, NY. He is available for local or out-of-state adoption, provided the adopter can travel to meet him.
