Meet Sparky, your gentle and loyal companion! Sparky is a handsome American Staffordshire Terrier mix, estimated to be born on February 2, 2022, and weighs 53lbs. He's the kind of dog who brings a calm, steady joy into your life. With his sweet nature and gentle soul, he's happiest right by your side, whether that's curled up on the couch for cuddles or joining you for a peaceful walk around the neighborhood. Sparky enjoys the simple things: belly rubs, fresh air, and spending time with his people. He's wonderfully mellow and easygoing at home, happy to match your pace. Sparky enjoys walks and trips to the dog park to stretch his legs and explore. He walks nicely on a leash, though he might get a little excited by squirrels! He does well with other dogs, especially with calm and proper introductions, and appreciates when new friends take things slow. Once comfortable, his sweet personality truly shines. Sparky would do best in a home that understands his gentle nature and allows him the time to settle in and feel safe. Training & Support

Sparky is kennel and potty trained. He may get a little excited if a squirrel crosses his path on walks, but he walks nicely on a leash. He does well with other dogs, especially with proper, calm introductions.

• Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
• Our adoption fees are based on the vetting we put into each dog. Fees for puppies (under 12 months) are higher because they require more vetting than dogs over 1 year.
• Listed breed and age are based on a best guess estimation by rescue and veterinary staff.
• Our adopters are eligible to receive 50% off training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training for programs booked within 30 days of adoption, and 25% off programs booked within 60-90 days of adoption.
• All of our adopters are invited to join our Alum Pupdates Facebook group.

Transporation

Sparky is currently located in Houston, TX. Transportation is available out of state. We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state. These are ground transports using third-party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360, and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.
