About BRUCIE

My name is BRUCIE! I'm an approximately 11-month-old male Labrador/Terrier Mix, weighing in at about 49.4 lbs. I stand 67 cm tall from paws to the top of my head, and my body is 82 cm long from head to tail. I was rescued from the streets of Querétaro, Mexico, as a young pup who was struggling with worms and fear. After receiving treatment and experiencing love for the first time, I blossomed into the affectionate, curious, and loyal boy I am today! I absolutely adore humans and have adapted wonderfully to my foster home, learning household routines and enjoying my crate for downtime. I'm a playful and sociable pup who forms bonds quickly, and while I can sometimes forget my size, my interactions are always friendly. I'm eager to start my new adventure in Canada!

Ideal Home

I'm looking for an adopter who can provide me with plenty of mental and physical stimulation to keep my medium-to-high energy levels happy. I'm affectionate and gentle, and while my rescuer thinks I might do well with older children, supervision is always recommended with any dog. I'm already living with and getting along great with other dogs and even a cat in my foster home! My prey drive is currently unknown, so my new family should be prepared to train me through any potential behaviors around small animals.

Ongoing Health

I am neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will be tested for heartworm before flying to Canada, and I'll arrive with all my vaccination and test records. Please note that it's common for rescue dogs to need dental work after adoption, and these costs are the adopter's responsibility.

Training & Support

My leash skills are a work in progress. I get very excited about walks and can sometimes pull, but I settle down as we go. I'll need an adopter willing to work with me on leash manners with a well-fitted harness. I'm also a work in progress with housetraining and will benefit from frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement in my new home.
