Meet Annie!
Annie is a spirited, almost five-year-old German Shepherd who embodies intelligence, loyalty, and a love for the outdoors. This sable-coated beauty, weighing around 55 pounds, is bright, curious, and full of classic Shepherd energy. She adores exploring the woods, chasing butterflies, and simply enjoying the open sky. Annie is wonderfully smart and has completed formal obedience training, reliably responding to commands like sit, stay, and down. She is also crate trained and often seeks her crate as a cozy retreat, demonstrating her adaptability and thoughtfulness. Annie thrives on connection and activity, easily adjusting to daily routines and enjoying being part of her caregiver's life.
Ideal Home
Annie truly comes alive outdoors and shines brightest in wide-open spaces with fresh air and room to explore. She would be happiest in a home with a securely fenced yard or in a rural setting. Annie requires a single-pet, child-free environment with minimal visiting animals. She is not compatible with other dogs or cats.
Ongoing Health
Annie requires a family prepared to support her special care needs. She has been diagnosed with Ventricular Premature Contraction (VPC), a heart condition that makes anesthesia unsafe, which is why she has not been spayed. She also has a history of seizures, though she has not had any recent episodes.
Training & Support
Annie would benefit from an experienced German Shepherd parent who understands her need for structure, positive reinforcement, and thoughtful guidance. While she can show interest in playing with other dogs, she can become overwhelmed quickly and may react in ways that require careful management. She would thrive with a confident caregiver who can provide consistent boundaries, recognize her signals, and support her with ongoing training and behavior guidance.
