Charlie is a neutered Black Mouth Cur/Lab mix who weighs between 85-90 pounds and is approximately 1½ years old. This sweet, energetic boy was left at a shelter and was sadly on the euthanasia list due to lack of space. Thankfully, he was given a second chance and is now ready to find his forever home. Charlie is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, crate trained, and fully potty trained. He has a fun-loving, playful personality and absolutely loves playing ball. He’ll happily chase and return any ball for another throw—except tennis balls! Those are his favorite, and he enjoys a good game of keep-away with them. He is a very smart boy and already knows several commands, including heel, sit, come, stay, off (no jumping), and nice/gentle when taking treats. He is still working on “down.” With his intelligence and eagerness to learn, he could easily excel in advanced training, agility, or even protection work. Charlie rides well in the car and does not struggle with anxiety. Charlie is ready to be someone’s loyal, adventurous companion. Could he be your new furry best friend?
Ideal Home
Because of his size and enthusiasm, Charlie would do best in a home with teenage children or adults, as he may accidentally knock over small kids in his excitement. He would thrive with an active single person, couple, or family who enjoys outdoor adventures. He would make an excellent hiking or running partner. He tends to prefer female dogs over males. His high energy level may be a bit much for a feline companion. NO Ties outs and NO electric fences.
Ongoing Health
