Comet

Comet is a 3-year-old, neutered male hound/retriever mix weighing 56 pounds. He's a sweet, affectionate boy who loves to cuddle and be with his people. Comet was rescued from the streets and brought to a local shelter, from where he was saved by our rescue. He enjoys a good run and can often be found doing zoomies, but he also loves to snuggle up for some quiet time. Comet is a resilient and adaptable dog, eager to find his forever family.

Ideal Home

Comet would be happiest in a home with a resident dog sibling to play and snuggle with. He has done well with indoor cats and children, but we recommend a home with children aged 10 years or older who can understand and respect animal behavior cues. Comet can be a bit wary of men, so a patient and consistent approach will help him feel comfortable.

Ongoing Health

Comet is healthy and has no known ongoing health issues.

Training & Support

Comet is fully house, crate, and leash trained. He sleeps through the night in his crate without whining and does not pull on the leash. He has had no accidents in the house and will alert you when he needs to go out. Comet does not appear to have separation anxiety, but he is crated when unsupervised as he has a tendency to chew on things he shouldn't. He is eager to please and easy to train, responding well to positive reinforcement.

Transporation

Comet is currently in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas. Transport out of state is available once an approved adopter is lined up.
