Mammy Chikki is a very sweet 6-year-old, 32-pound lady who had a very rough start to life. She endured hardship on the streets of India, facing dangers from other animals and even people who wished her harm. Thankfully, she was rescued and brought to a place of safety, along with two of her puppies. Mammy is ready for a fresh start and a loving home where she can finally relax and be cherished. She's a pleasure to have around, happy to play, go for a walk, or simply curl up on the couch for some TV time with a tasty chew.

Ideal Home

Mammy needs a quiet home where she can feel secure. She would do best as the only pet, as she is fearful of other dogs due to her past experiences. A home with a fenced yard is required for her safety and comfort. While she can manage in a townhouse, she would not be happy in an apartment setting. She would thrive with a patient and loving adopter who understands her background and can provide the reassurance she needs. An experienced adopter is a must.

Ongoing Health

Mammy may show signs of PTSD due to her past trauma, reacting with fear to loud noises, screaming, and harsh environments.

Training & Support

Mammy is house-trained and crate-trained. She does not bark when left alone and does not chew inappropriate items. She can be a bit finicky with food and prefers not to have dry food mixed with wet food. Her adopter should be prepared to offer consistent love, reassurance, and build trust with her.
