About RYE GS

Rye is a beautiful 16-month-old girl who was rescued from a high-kill shelter after being placed on the euthanasia list. She was understandably scared and unsure of the world when she first arrived in foster care, as it's evident she hasn't always experienced kindness. Initially, Rye was quite fearful of people and kept her guard up, seemingly anticipating the worst. However, she found solace and confidence in the company of other dogs, who have helped her slowly learn that not all humans are a threat. Rye is still a nervous girl who requires patience to build trust. She's not the type to immediately seek out cuddles; instead, she prefers to give and receive affection on her own terms. Once she feels safe and allows you into her world, she forms a quiet, loyal bond that is truly special.

Ideal Home

Rye would thrive in a home with at least one other friendly, confident dog to act as a mentor. She can also do well with children who understand the importance of giving her space and allowing her to approach them at her own pace.

Ongoing Health

No specific health concerns are mentioned.

Training & Support

Rye needs a patient adopter who is willing to go slow and help her continue to build trust. Her foster family has been working with her, and she is making great progress in learning that people can be kind.
