Frankie is a beautiful, intelligent young dog who forms strong bonds with the people she trusts. Once she feels comfortable, she is affectionate, loyal, and loves being close to her family. She is highly food-motivated, learns quickly, and responds well to consistent guidance, structure, and positive reinforcement. Frankie is currently living with another dog and would likely benefit from a home with a calm, canine companion who can help show her that the world isn't as scary as she sometimes believes it is. She is a sweet girl who lacks confidence and can be nervous in unfamiliar situations, around new people, and when encountering new dogs outside the home. When she feels unsure, she may bark or become reactive, but these behaviors are rooted in fear and anxiety rather than a desire to cause harm. Frankie also experiences motion sickness during car rides and will need continued desensitization and positive experiences to help improve her comfort in the car. Frankie is growing into a wonderful young dog with tremendous potential. In the right home, she will become an incredibly loyal and loving companion.
Ideal Home
Frankie would thrive in a quieter home in a suburban or rural setting rather than a busy, high-traffic environment. She requires patient introductions to new people and prefers to approach interactions at her own pace. A home without young children is preferred, as a calmer environment will help her continue building confidence and feeling secure. She needs a home with a yard and would benefit from a home with a calm, confident dog.
Ongoing Health
Frankie is spayed and has no known medical issues. She does experience motion sickness during car rides.
Training & Support
Frankie is house-trained, crate-trained, and eager to learn. She continues to work on her leash skills and would benefit from adopters who are committed to continuing her training using positive reinforcement methods. With consistency and support, she has shown that she can make progress and gain confidence. She can be reactive when she feels unsure, which is rooted in fear and anxiety. She is a puppy and will chew, especially when teething, and will need to be redirected and provided with safe teething chews.
