Meet Gumigoo!
Gumigoo, also known as Gumi, Gumibear, or Gumbo, is a handsome young Border Collie mix with a perfect blend of athleticism and affection. This 2-year-old, 33 lb pup is already neutered and up to date on all his vaccinations. He's heartworm negative and on monthly prevention. Gumi is a true cuddle bug who loves to snuggle and nap with his people. He's respectful of personal space when asked and gets along well with his foster's female Aussie, suggesting he'd do well with other dogs after proper introductions. He has excellent house manners, is fully house-trained, and is trustworthy in the home.
Ideal Home
Gumi would thrive in an active home with an experienced owner who can provide consistent training and structure. He needs a large, secure fenced yard and a quiet environment with minimal outside stimulation. An adult-only home or a family with older children would be ideal. He has a strong prey drive and is highly alert to movement, barking at things like chickens, bicyclists, delivery trucks, and machinery. Fence-running can occur once stimulated and can be hard to interrupt. Therefore, a quiet home on a low-traffic or dead-end road is strongly recommended.

Training & Support
Gumi is very smart and eager to learn, already knowing "sit," "wait," "leave it," and "place" reliably. His recall ("come") is still a work in progress. He is highly food-motivated, making training productive and fun. He may jump during greetings, so consistent cues like "sit" or "place" are helpful. Gumi can be nervous at the vet and may need sedation or pre-visit anti-anxiety medication. He is an early riser, typically waking between 5:30–6:00 AM. He may need help with his tendency to bark at outside activity, and window coverings or film can help reduce triggers.
