Maya is a sweet young pup who's looking for her forever home! She's a bit of a leash-puller and has a dominant personality, so she'd do best as the only dog in the household. If you do have other dogs, introductions will need to be slow and cautious, avoiding high-energy companions. Maya also has a tendency to chew on drywall, especially if she's bored, so it's important to provide her with plenty of stimulation and safe chew toys. For the first three months, it's recommended to limit her free access in the house to a smaller, dog-proofed area, like one or two rooms. She is crate trained and would be happiest in her crate when unsupervised. A fenced yard is preferred to give her a safe space to expend her energy. While she's not yet house-trained, we believe she could learn quickly with consistent training. We don't know how she'd do with cats.
Ideal Home
Maya would thrive in a home where she can be the only dog, or where introductions to other dogs are managed carefully. She needs a home with a fenced yard and a family prepared to provide her with mental and physical stimulation to prevent boredom-related chewing. Due to her dominant nature and potential for chewing, her free roam of the house should be limited to a dog-proofed area for the first three months, and she should be crated when unsupervised. She is not suitable for homes with children under 12.
Ongoing Health
Maya has been spayed, microchipped, and is fully vetted.
Training & Support
Maya needs work on leash manners, as she tends to lay down when leashed. She is not house-trained but is expected to learn quickly with consistent effort. She has a tendency to eat drywall when bored, so providing her with appropriate chew toys and mental stimulation is crucial.
