Gunner from TEXAS

Gunner is a goofy, happy 3-year-old male black-and-tan hound mix who weighs about 50 pounds. Rescued from a rural Texas dog pound, he is affectionate, playful, and loves human attention, petting, toys, treats, and playing with other dogs.

Gunner is happiest relaxing indoors in the air conditioning, though he enjoys short periods outside to potty, run, and wrestle with his friends. Like many hounds, he is enthusiastic about squirrels and may bark at people, dogs, and cats he sees in the neighborhood. He may also counter-surf and raid unsecured garbage cabinets, so secure storage and supervision will be important.

Gunner would enjoy a home that appreciates his affectionate, playful hound personality and can provide indoor comfort, supervision, and secure household storage.

Ongoing Health

Gunner is neutered, microchipped, tattooed, and fully vaccinated for DAPPvL2, Bordetella, and rabies. He was treated for heartworms, is currently heartworm-negative, and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention.

Training & Support

Gunner is crate-trained and goes into his crate when told. He obeys and comes when called, rides well in a vehicle, sits for treats, walks on a leash, and is comfortable with baths.
