Gunner from TEXAS

Gunner is a handsome 3-year-old, 50-pound black and tan hound mix who was rescued from a small-town dog pound in rural Texas. He's a good boy who enjoys the comforts of indoor living, especially when it's hot outside. Gunner loves affection, petting, and playing with toys and other dogs. He's crate-trained, comes when called, walks well on a leash, and is a good sport during baths. He's happy, goofy, and would make a wonderful companion.

Ideal Home

Gunner loves to be inside and cool, so a home with air conditioning is ideal. He's a hound, so he does get excited by squirrels and will bark at people, dogs, and cats passing by. He also enjoys a good counter-surf and will raid the garbage if cabinets aren't secured.

Ongoing Health

Gunner is neutered, tattooed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. He has been treated for heartworms and is now heartworm-negative. He is up-to-date on monthly heartworm and flea prevention.

Training & Support

Gunner is already crate-trained and responsive to commands. He may need some continued training to manage his excitement when seeing squirrels and neighborhood animals. Securing cabinets with baby locks will also help prevent any garbage raids!
