Meet Ernie!
Ernie is a handsome 8-year-old, 63lb neutered male Pittie/Cattle Dog mix with a heart of gold. He was found as a stray, but it's clear he was once loved. Ernie is a true gem who is ready to find his forever family. He's a chill and goofy gentleman who gets excited for walks and playtime. Ernie gets along wonderfully with humans and animals alike, always hoping to be included in the fun. He's a gentle playmate who goes with the flow and is happy to let smaller dogs, or even a bossy Aussie, have their way. While he hasn't formally met a cat, he shows interest without aggression, so he may do well with a feline friend who doesn't mind a curious greeting. Ernie is incredibly gentle and, while he hasn't been around children, his foster believes he'd thrive in a home with them, provided they're aware he's a big boy.
Ideal Home
Ernie would love a home where he can be part of the family pack. He's adaptable and would likely do well with kids, other pets, an older couple, or even first-time dog owners.
Ongoing Health
Ernie is current on his vaccinations and tested negative for heartworm.
Training & Support
Ernie is house-trained and walks well on a leash. He is not a fan of crates and will try to escape. However, he does not exhibit destructive behavior when left unsupervised. He may whine or howl for a few minutes when crated if he knows you're home, but he calms down with a treat or verbal commands.
