A little about them
Meet Jack, a one-of-a-kind Blue Heeler mix with an unforgettable smile. This affectionate, playful, athletic one-year-old weighs 41 pounds and loves adventures, fetch, toys, belly rubs, and being close to his people. Once he feels safe, his goofy, loving personality shines.
Ideal Home
Jack needs an active, committed family familiar with cattle dogs and able to provide exercise, mental stimulation, structure, enrichment, patience, and consistency. Hiking, running, obedience, agility, fetch, and training games would suit him well. He is dog-friendly and loves canine playmates, though a dog sibling is not required. Jack loves children and enjoys running and playing with them.
Jack can be nervous in busy environments and around unfamiliar people because of limited early socialization, but he is making progress and warms up quickly once he feels safe. He may be mouthy and nibbly when excited.
Ongoing Health
Jack was rescued from a rural shelter outside Houston after facing euthanasia. No medical conditions or health tests are reported.
