Dude

Dude is ready for adoption! He is an approximately 8-9-year-old neutered male, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative, and recently had a dental cleaning. Dude came to us from a mill situation and was initially afraid of many things, including noises, fast movements, and even birds! Thanks to the incredible patience and dedication of his foster mom, Jackie, Dude has made remarkable progress. He's learned to enjoy leash walks, though he may lay down if something startles him until he feels reassured. He's also a good boy in the car and sleeps soundly on a dog bed, not in a crate. While he may initially find a safe hiding spot in his new home, he has overcome many of his fears and will even sit on your lap once he trusts you. He's housebroken, not destructive, and can hold it for up to 7 hours during the day and 10 hours at night.

Ideal Home

Dude would thrive in a quiet home environment with no young children. He enjoys running in a small exercise yard and may do well with another older, friendly dog who has experience living with other dogs.

Ongoing Health

Dude is up-to-date on all his vaccinations and is heartworm negative. He recently underwent a dental cleaning.

Training & Support

Dude has overcome many fears with consistent work and patience. He enjoys leash walks and car rides. He may need time to adjust and find a safe space in his new home. He has no aggression and is housebroken and not destructive.
