Meet Spike!

Spike is a spirited two-year-old German Shepherd mix, weighing about 50 pounds. He's a handsome boy with a striking black coat, a bright white chest patch, and intelligent eyes. Spike is affectionate, highly intelligent, and wonderfully playful. He enjoys cuddling and thinks he's a lap dog, loving belly rubs and attention. His favorite toys are squeaky ones, and he's an enthusiastic swimmer, making him a great companion for an active person or family.

Spike was initially fearful but has grown tremendously in confidence over the past year and a half. He now seeks affection and initiates play. While he may bark at strangers, he recovers quickly and looks to his people for reassurance. He has lived peacefully with female dogs but can be selective and would benefit from thoughtful introductions.

Ideal Home

Spike needs a patient, experienced pet parent who can provide a fenced yard, loving guidance, and steady leadership in a caring environment.

Ongoing Health

Spike is neutered and microchipped.

Training & Support

Spike is crate-trained and house-trained. He knows commands like sit, wait, crate, out, and no, and comes when called. He waits patiently for treats and responds well to structure and positive reinforcement. He can be uneasy around loud sirens and may whimper if he sees his people cuddling another dog. With patience and reassurance, he continues to blossom.
