RITCHEY ROO (aka Richard)

Ritchey Roo, affectionately known as Richard, is an estimated 5-6 year old, 90 lb bundle of joy! This handsome hound mix is a true testament to living life to the fullest, with moments of laid-back lounging balanced by bursts of pure exuberance. He absolutely adores his people and thrives on companionship, whether it's snuggling on the couch or simply being in your presence. Ritchey is house-trained and can comfortably entertain himself when you're away.

Ideal Home

Ritchey would love a home with a securely fenced yard where he can safely explore and enjoy his bursts of energy. He is looking for a home where he can be the sole cherished pet, as he tends to get a bit too excited around other dogs.

Ongoing Health

Ritchey arrived at the shelter a bit underweight, and while he's gained healthy weight, he could benefit from a diet and/or increased physical activity.

Training & Support

Ritchey can be an enthusiastic jumper, especially when excited or when food or a leash is involved. He's also a strong puller on the leash and will require ongoing leash training. While he can be vocal, he "speaks" when he has something to say, often with humorous results. He has learned the "OVER" command for bed-sharing negotiations! He doesn't seem to be interested in toys or playing fetch.
